Principal and Teacher of Grades 5–8 Mathematics
Roxanne has been teaching in Kingston since 1998 when she completed the Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science degree programs at Queen’s University. She joined KTS in 2010 as a mathematics and science teacher and accepted the role of principal the following year.
Roxanne believes that it is a school’s role to nurture a child’s mind, spirit, and creativity. Working closely with Vice Principal Martha Thomson and the KTS staff, she strives to ensure that King’s Town School promotes a healthy balance of academic, social, and emotional growth and support. Roxanne understands that King’s Town’s strong sense of community enhances the educational experience of her students and therefore endeavors to cultivate collaborative relationships between staff, students, and their families. As a teacher of mathematics and science, she aims to inspire enthusiasm and confidence in her students while developing their critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Roxanne’s son attends the Montessori program at KTS, where he thoroughly enjoys the nurturing guidance of Martha and Theresa and loves learning, working, and playing with his mixed aged classmates.
When she finds herself with free time, Roxanne enjoys spending time outdoors with her son and pug, and visiting with family and friends.
