Katherine Teepell

Teacher: Grades 1 and 2

Katie’s passion for teaching was inspired by so many great educators growing up, all of whom instilled in her a deep desire to keep learning. She strives to incite that same enthusiasm of life-long learning in her students. Katie uses hands-on activities that incorporate the interests of her students to make learning relevant and enticing. She is committed to an inclusive environment that makes learning fun and engaging for everyone.

Katie has been a teacher in Kingston and the surrounding area since 2009. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Psychology as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Queen’s University. She has taught Grades One and Two at King’s Town since 2015. Katie values the small class sizes at KTS since it allows her to individualize her teaching strategies to meet each student’s need. She loves being part of a group of dedicated educators who share her excitement for teaching. She delights in sharing her passion for the arts with students through improvisation teams, coffee house presentations, and art clubs.

Katie loves spending time with her two sons. Her oldest attends the Montessori program at KTS, and her youngest will be ready for Montessori soon! When she is not playing outside with her children she can be found working in the garden, baking, or curled up with a good book.
