Teacher: Grades 3 and 4, Grades 1–8 Technology
Bryan arrived in Kingston in 2008 and reports that it was the best decision of his life! He has fallen in love with the city and its surrounding areas which provide an endless amount of trails to hike and lakes to paddle his canoe with his family. Prior to moving to Kingston, he worked as an early childhood and primary educator in both independent and public school systems since 1997.
His approach to education can be described as a partnership between student and educator, where he is essentially their guide through their personal educational journey. He feels that a balance between academia, athleticism, and mindfulness is essential. If he can help them navigate their lives to achieve a good balance, then he has done his job. This approach was inspired by his travel experiences and by his teachers in Early Childhood Education and Outdoor Recreation courses in college and university degree and postgraduate degrees from King’s University College and York University.
Bryan has been part of the KTS community since 2011, teaching grades 1 through 4. He is happy to have the opportunity of having both of his sons at King’s Town, with his youngest in Grade One and his oldest in Grade Six. For Bryan, what makes KTS special is the sense of community and the connection that parents, students, and staff have. Aside from his love of teaching, Bryan is an avid runner, outdoor enthusiast, reader of fiction, and guitar player.
